Brilliant watch. The solar battery and radio controlled time setting feature means it never requires fiddling when moving between time zones and it wont die when you least expect it. The strap is comfortable and the watch face is a decent enough size without it being too bulky under shirt cuffs. The build quality is sturdy as youd expect from a g shock and feels as though it could take a battering without giving up the ghost.
The only negatives i can pick out really is at night the backlight feature will not light up the digital section of the screen, this is a minor problem though as the hands are easy to read on the analogue side of things. The buttons for selecting features are a little difficult to use with gloves on if your using the watch when out and about.
Overall a decent quality watch that will last you a while whatever its used for.

Yes, 5 stars! I proudly roll up my sleeve and display a watch that took me months to commit to, which I find beautiful and practical in nearly every way. I'm not a watch expert or collector but I wanted to buy a watch that is accurate, long lasting, suitable at work and play, looks great in most situations and didn't cost too much. All boxes ticked.
If you're like me and you've read excellent things about G-Shock watches, but you're a bit overwhelmed by the size and presence that some of them have, then this is the watch for you! I have an office job and it doesn't look out of place with my shirt and trousers. However, I couldn't wear it if I didn't always have my cuffs rolled back (which I always do!). I saw it along side some of the Air, Land and Sea watches which have the compass and this was slightly more compact. I also know I would never use some of the functions, like a compass, ever!
The watch is accurate because it gets updated from radio signals, it has solar panels to maintain the charge for long lengths of time, I can take it in the pool with the kids and out for a run and out on my bike, and I can wear it with all my regular clothes because it looks great! The yellow doesn't grab attention but it does highlight the watch features, yellow also goes great with blue jeans and nearly all other colours! The fluorescent features are visible in low light without the built in light.
Stopwatch, countdown, world time and alarms are features that I won't be using much but when I've needed to, on a rare occasion, I've been able to work out the functions without needing to consult the manual!
I've been impressed with this watch since it arrived a few weeks ago. Now I've worn it, taken it swimming, to work, to the pub etc... I only feel more confident that I've made an excellent choice.
I hope this helps! Thanks for reading.

The option to pay extra for a watch just because it is solar powered is one that is a daunting thought. Thoughts of, 'has technology advanced enough to support this feature', and 'is it really worth paying the extra to take this risk?'. These were certainly thoughts that ran through my mind. However, wishing to embrace this I took the plunge.
From opening this Casio GW-3500B-1AER is impressed by the size of the face, and the clarity of reading the hands. The striking yellow on the black background is very clear. The watch its self has a good weight which spells out tough, but not such that you need to go to the gym to be able to carry it. The strap has multiple settings that allow for a good range of wrist size without massive gaps between holes. Once on the wrist it feels very comfortable and secure with any areas that dig in, even when moving the wrist around.
Initial set up was a little mind blowing, but the instructions are very clear and afer reading it through and then going through with the watch it all became apparent and the watch was set up in quick time. This is helped by the Radio Controlled Atomic Timekeeping. One thing I would like to point out at this point, is that the instruction manual that comes with the watch is rather small, however a quick search online to Casio and I was able to print off an A4 sized set of instructions.
After a relatively short period of time and going through pressing the buttons the various functions become aparent although I do have to keep refreshing myself every now and then.
All the readings are nice and clear, the only thing that I would have prefered is the ability to readily see the date. This can be done so that it shows as a digital display, but at the sacrifice of lossing the digital display of the time. You can't have both!
The additions functions of world time, stopwatch and countdown timer are all very good, although the large anolgue hands can obscure the digital display. Best not time things at the half hour past 4, 5, or 6.
My concerns about running out of power have been put to rest with a battery level indicator. I tend to leave the watch on the window sill when not in use and this seems more than enough to keep it powered up. I work as fireservice instructor, so this watch gets put through it's paces and so far I can report that it is proving to be a good purchase.

23 August 2025 | I haven’t revived the item yet it’s been stuck in transit for nearly 2 weeks. | |
16 August 2025 | ++ | Service rating : The watch was packaged securely and arrived just as described. Product : Love this watch. I was skeptical about ordering from a company I hadn't heard of when this watch was for such a low price, but I was pleasantly surprised. Love the watch and would love to buy one in... |
7 August 2025 | -- | Service rating : They haven't answered an email. Product : Watch turned up defective. (Hour hand and minute hand out of sync. When the minute hand is at the 12 o'clock position the hour hand reads 1/2 past the hour.) They don't answer emails or can't be bothered. |
